Kid Number 6.
Oliver went back to B.C. on Wednesday, after spending 2 weeks with us. He had to make a difficult decision about where he wanted to live when his mom decided to move there 1 1/2 years ago. Stay here and be one of 6 kids who live in this house or go there and be an only child? At first he said he didn't want to go, as his dad and two sisters would be here in Ottawa. After fighting it out in court for six months, he decided that he would try it, and so we agreed to let him go out for grade 7. After he seemed to enjoy his new school, we suggested that he stay for grade 8, returning here for high school next year. Who knows? He may end up finishing high school out there, but there isn't much we can do about it. We can only afford to bring him back here twice a year, so we try to make the visits meaningful. He had a nice visit with us and we will see him in the summer for at least 5 weeks.
