Construction Beginning
So last summer, my dad finally decided to move back to Ottawa. He had been living in Brantford until he and his second wife broke up a couple of years ago. My dad decided he would stay in Brantford until his youngest son, Tom had finished high school, which should have been this year, but Tom decided to drop out half-way through last year.
After that, my dad told Tom enough is enough, and he moved here in August. He moved in with my sister Kim, her husband and their 4 year old and lived with them for about 3 months. At the time, he asked me if he could stay with us for a few months, and I told him once we had moved the girls to their new rooms, there would be room in the rec room.
So this happened in November, and he has been living here since then. We made some temporary walls to give him a bit of privacy. I decided at Christmas that it was worth it to invest some money (about $500) to build some real walls down there. Our rec room is HUGE - like about 25 x 25 feet... and not well used. Before my dad was down there it was just a big mess. (Sarah???)
So now, we have made some plans and hope to get the project started next weekend. Our friend is leading the project and we plan to get the materials early Saturday am, and then start building the two walls. He thinks we can do drywall that day too... We shall see. We are telling the kids they have to help too. Plus dad will help and he has some skills which I didn't know about so hopefully it will all go smoothly. At least we don't have to knock down any walls...???
