Construction Project - Part One

So today went pretty well, although we obviously didn't finish the job! Our friend Jonathan coordinated this whole thing, from planning to shopping and advising, as well as teaching us how to do it. It has been a great experience for Zoe, who is learning how to build a room. Maybe she will want to be an engineer or architect after this! I didn't help too much other than providing food and drinks... and running errands. The dust bothers me a lot with my darn allergies.

What got done today:

- building two walls.
- put lots of insulation into the walls (for soundproofing).
-wiring, including electrical, phone and cable
- drywall on about half of the two walls
- tried to put the door in - didn't quite finish as there were problems.

Still to get done:
- finish insulation and drywall
- finish door
- mudding and taping the drywall
- sanding, primer
- painting (probably won't get done for quite a while)
- electrical for lights in ceiling (with wall switch)
- staining door
- sorting out the various cable lines

What a huge job! A big thank you to the whole team!
